AYAC Basketball Status for 2011-2012 Season

I recently heard from one of our coaches that there was a rumor going around that there would not be AYAC Basketball this coming season. I apologize for not communicating with the AYAC parents and players better since the school levy failed earlier this year but nothing could be further from the truth.

We WILL be having AYAC basketball in 2011-2012!

There are a number of people working very hard to make sure that can happen but it is going to take even more work than normal if we will not have access to the schools for practices and maybe even games. We have been talking with just about every available basketball court in the area about getting access to their courts for practices and games to include, churches, camps, basketball facilities, community centers, and even other CAYBL programs with excess gym capacity. We have not yet committed or finalized plans for 2 reasons. 1) We have been busy gathering all possible options before making a decision and determining what budget will be needed to support the options and 2) football is in a much more serious situation and the board has been very focused on getting that program settled for this summer (practices) and the fall season.

I will do my best to update the www.ayac.us website with status as well as send out information once the details are defined and approved. Once again, there WILL BE AYAC Basketball in 2011-2012.

If you know of any organization like a church or other facility that might allow us to use or rent their basketball courts, please email me or call me to get me their information. I want to make sure we have all options covered.
